About Us
Where do I start? I used to be a Black woman navigating a white corporate tech world—staying in my lane, doing my job, and getting paid. But everything changed when I became a mother. People say children change you, and they were right—but not in the way I expected.
When my son entered the education system, I realised how little had changed for Black children. For years, I had kept quiet about racial biases, the “Black jokes,” and the constant questions about my hair or where I "really" came from. I had been so focused on surviving in my corporate bubble that I hadn’t noticed the world outside hadn’t progressed at all. Not just for Black women but for anyone who is from an ethnic background, the LGBTQ+ community or for those with a disability.
Watching my ADHD son go through school, I realised the same issues I faced were still there. I had naively believed that things were better—after all, we did have a Black president at one point ( meaning the world was changing), right? But seeing my son’s experiences made it clear: the world hadn’t changed. That realisation sparked something in me: what was I going to do about it?
I believe the solution lies in two key areas. First, through education. Children are future leaders, and it’s crucial they learn the value of cultural diversity from an early age. They’ll be better for it. Second, I want to make sure that when these children become leaders, co-workers, and teachers, there’s a system in place that welcomes and supports them. My goal is to help organisations create environments that embrace diversity of thought, perspective, and background, enhancing their business in the process.
This is a top-down, bottom-up approach. If we can shift perceptions, we can break down barriers.
